Brief

BMA conducts elections for various committees with in association at regular intervals. Where doctors will get nominated for committees and other doctors will vote to elect for positions in the committee.

Challange

An election is a formal group decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office. Elections have been the usual mechanism by which modern representative democracy has operated since the 17th century. Elections may fill offices in the legislature, sometimes in the executive and judiciary, and for regional and local government. This process is also used in many other private and business organizations, from clubs to voluntary associations and corporations.

BMA also conducts elections for various committees with in association at regular intervals. Where doctors will get nominated for committees and other doctors will vote to elect for positions in the committee. Its tedious tasks for creating ballet papers and manage election process for all the committee elections. BMA decided to manage them through online with the name “Online Nomination and Elections” which is abbreviated as ONE.

Solution

PearlArc was Awarded to build online application for managing these elections. PearlArc developed Cloud based online elections tool, which has the features like Creating elections, getting nominations for elections, publishing the dates for nomination and election. Conducting elections on specific time and will be open to vote till election is closed. Admin of the application is given rights to manage these election process. Admin can verify the number of votes and publish results. Confidentiality and Audit is well maintained in the application when publishing the results. Features provided to re-run the election if in case of Tie-Break.

This application is also very well integrated with OpenSTV, which drives the several rules while counting votes and announcing the results.

ONE application is designed and built with Microsoft Technologies like ASP.Net MVC, C#, HTML 5.0, CSS 3.0, jQuery, Angular JS, Entity Framework 6.0 with MS Azure SQL backend.

At BMA now all the elections are conducted through Online Election System with very little preparation time, more secured and trust. No hassles of ballot papers, Nomination Papers or counting.
