Brief

ILMA is another milestone in PearlArc’ s successful journey as a service provider to City & guilds. As customers grew ILM were struggling to manage there assessment process using manual process, PearlArc built a modern software platform to improve Assessment Service there by reducing cost improving efficiency and quality.

Challange

ILMA is a manual back-office service that relies on the intense use of Excel, e-mail and the copy and pasting of data among a variety of internal systems. And also, turnaround time of the assessments marking was huge. This assessment marking process has to be simplified with little turnaround time.

Solution

PearlArc demonstrated their maturity in building a enterprise application to transform their manual work to online by building an Cloud based solution with more user-friendly design with well secured design. It was focused on establishing a workflow for the following business case:

• Submission of assessments by Centres to ILM

• The marking lifecycle at ILM, based around assessing learner evidence and updating the associated result sheet

• Reporting for the marking life cycle

The design is more extensible for any future development. The User Interface design was more challenging as the users were with minimum knowledge of computer usage. And also, many Assessor were aged persons. And also, Assessor were most from remote locations with less internet bandwidth

ILMA Web application made more user friendly with rich User Interface using ASP.Net MVC, C#, jQuery, Angular JS, CSS 3.0, HTML 5.0, Entity Framework 6.0 with MS Azure SQL backend.

Results

ILMA Application became centre of the assessment marking process which connects the centres, Assessors, Lead assessors and admins effectively with different statuses. It reduced most of the manual process and reduced turnaround time drastically. PearlArc changed the whole of the routine of the actors of the system.
